LO4 Planning for the production of the graphic design products

A) Budget
Equipment costs.
Graphic designers make roughly $23,41 per year
To have all of adobes software for a month it is £36.59
The price of a graphics tablet it £65.78

Printing costs.
The costs for 3 colours and 1000 t-shirts is £1.95
The printing costs for the writs bands is £475 for 1550 wristbands
The printing costs for the hats it is £2.06 for orders over 500, this is for the beanie hat. For the baseball cap it is £2.33 for orders over 500 also.
To print the posters it would cost £237 for 1,500 A3 posters.

B) Production plan

This is my production plan for designing and creating my graphic designs. The launch date for the merchandise to be released is the 1st of May. I feel that 5 weeks will be enough time for all the products to be released. Also it times in well with the date of the festival because there is enough time for people to buy the merchandise and tickets.

C) Legal and ethical
ASA rules
All the components I have used are my own so there will be no copyright issues. The images I used for the back of the poster were taken by me so there won't be any copyright issues. I have looked at all the things that could potentially not fit with the ASA's CAP code.

One of the things is number 18 alcohol. It is very important not to promote irresponsible drinking. So I have made sure there are no images of alcohol or brands on my advertising. So it my advertisements can't interfere with the rules.
Another one is number 4 harm and offence, this rule ensures that nothing that could cause offence to someone. It is difficult because offend is a very broad term. However I have ensured that there is nothing offensive to the general public in my graphics work.

The third is Misleading advertising, the purpose of my graphics work is to promote the festival and create interest around it. None of my pieces of work contain misleading information about the festival.

LO3 Questioner results

I have tried to incorporate the metal from the hubs into the logo but I had a problem with the colouring and shadows on the photos. Although I think it would've been a good idea to put the hub logo with the advertising.

I agree that possibly having a lighter colour on the wristband would be better although the purpose of the wristband is to differentiate the type of passes e.g weekend pass or day pass. So the colours need to be bright so security and stuards can see from far away. I think pastel colour would look nice though.

I think it would've been a good idea to add sponsors to other pieces of graphics work but my only concern is that it would take away from the simplicity of the  designs. But if I had a poster then I would add the sponsors to it.

From this I can see that the logo is definitely a strong point in my work.  But from my feedback I can see that my colours could be less harsh.

LO3 Presenting to Nick Bax

This is me presenting to Nick Bax. He is a graphic designer who works for Human Studio.
I presented my conceptual ideas in a power point. I talked about the audience and the location and explained the reasoning behind them. Also I show Nick Bax my initial sketched so he could see how I got to my final design. Finally I showed my different pieces of work. This was really useful because I got to show my work and get feedback.
